Intel bindet TPM an

Der nächste Intel-Chipsatz ICH8 soll nicht nur ältere Standards wie PATA ausmustern und bestehende Standards wie AC'97 durch HD Audio Processing ersetzen. Die Southbridge sieht die Anbindung eines Trusted Platform (TPM) vor und soll die 2003 angekündigten Chipsatz-Sicherheitsfunktionen "LaGrande" unterstützen, wenn man TG Daily glauben darf:

But High Definition does not only bring new features, but restrictions as well. ICH8 will be the first Intel Southbridge to support the firm's La Grande technology (LT), a hardware-based security and digital rights management approach that is based on the specifications developed by the Trusted Computing Group (TCG). A key part of the technology will be integrated into a "Trusted Platform Module" (TPM) that will be located on the motherboard.

So schrecklich neu ist die TPM-Anbindung allerdings nicht; schon bei den Entwickler-Prototypen der x86-Apple-Boards war bereits ein TPM an Bord.
