Abstract
Open Source software can provide many benefits to today's businesses. Every company should take a serious look at how it can apply those benefits to gain a competitive advantage. Unfortunately a lot of misleading or too generalized studies about Open Source software are dominating the Internet. Based on this information, many companies don't understand the flexibility and reach and turn it down too quickly. There is a lot more to Open Source software than just reducing licensing costs. This keynote will debunk some of the popular misconceptions and illustrate how we at AMD turned Open Source software into a value generator for our business.
