Christine Martino
Hewlett-Packard Company, Vice President Open Source and Linux Organization
Abstract
Open source software and the community development model was recognized and embraced by HP well over a decade ago. Today, we are a leading contributor to a variety of projects, literally selling a Linux server every minute of the day, and helping our customers integrate open source technology throughout their environments. Learn how open source is pervasive throughout the HP Adaptive Infrastructure strategy, how our portfolio of services spans an entire IT project lifecycle, how we deploy open source across HP, and how we’re enabling customers to implement open source solutions today with unprecedented levels of confidence.
Biographie: Christine Martino
Christine Martino is vice president of the Open Source and Linux Organization (OSLO) at HP, where she is responsible for engineering, marketing, open source community participation and linkage, as well as HP’s Open Source and Linux indemnity and IP protection programs. Martino currently serves on the board for the Linux Foundation.
Previously, she served as director of business planning and development for OSLO, leading strategy development, cross-organizational linkage and new business initiatives.
Prior to joining OSLO, Martino led the Carrier Grade business for HP’s Business Critical Systems unit, where 90 percent of sales were Linux-based. She helped to develop the business from start-up mode to a multimillion dollar business that continues to grow today.
Martino also was responsible for worldwide marketing for the HP 3000 server and was instrumental in developing plans to migrate and retain this product’s loyal HP customer base. In addition, she has held marketing management and technical marketing management roles in HP’s Video Communications Division, where she helped take HP to No. 2 in the broadcast server marketplace. She joined HP in 1988.
