General Standard Terms and Conditions for Heise Events
§ 1 Generalities
Heise Events are organized by Heise Zeitschriften Verlag GmbH & Co. KG,
Karl-Wiechert-Allee 10, 30625 Hannover (hereinafter referred to as Heise
Verlag). All of the services provided for this event are based on these
General Standard Terms and Conditions. By registering, you accepted
these General Terms.
§ 2 Registration
Registration takes place either via the dedicated Internet sites, by
letter, fax, or e-mail.
§ 3 The effectiveness of the contract
When you have registered, you will receive an e-mail to confirm
registration. Once you have confirmed, this contract takes effect.
§ 4 Cancellations
Cancellations must be made in writing. If you cancel your registration
at least 14 days before the event takes place, you will be reimbursed
in full. Afterwards, we unfortunately have to charge you in full. You
may, however, have someone sent in your place.
Heise Verlag reserves the right to change the venue or the date for the event if there is substantial reason. Likewise, the event can be canceled altogether for substantial reason; in this case, any fees paid would be returned in full. No other claims will be honored. In other respects, Heise Verlag also reserves the right to cancel the event up to 14 days before it takes place without having to state a reason. In case of force majeure, such as war, unrest, acts of God, fire, strikes, lockouts, sabotage by third parties, intervention by authorities, etc., neither party is liable to the other for any delays that occur or any failure to provide contractual services.
§ 5 Payments
Once you have registered, you will receive an invoice indicating the
attendance fee. When you have received it, the billing amount is
payable immediately, no later than 14 days before the event takes
place, to the account of Heise Verlag indicated on the invoice.
§ 6 Prices and services
The prices indicated in the program include the services in the
program. There will be no refunds for services not taken advantage of
completely.
§ 7 Liability
Heise Verlag is only liable for damage to assets and tangible items
caused intentionally or due to gross negligence regardless of the legal
ground. Heise Verlag does not assume any liability for accidents during
the event, on the way to or from the venue, or for any theft or losses
or damage to items.
§ 8 Other
The contractual relationship is subject to German law. The venue for
the settlement of all disputes is Hanover, where legally admissible.
Should any of the provisions in these General Standard Terms and Conditions be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain unaffected. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall then be replaced by a valid, enforceable one that comes as close as possible to the spirit of the provision replaced.
