Interview with Heidi Grundmann
From Broadcast to Netcast and back again
Heidi Grundmann is the editor-in-chief of the programme KUNSTRADIO-RADIOKUNST, a weekly 40 minute programme on Österreich 1, the culture station of the ORF (Austrian National Radio). The content of the program is, exclusively, works for radio by artists - visual artists, "media" artists, composers, sound artists, writers and that rapidly growing group calling themselves simply "radio artists". KUNSTRADIO ON LINE began in April 1995 and has since then grown from being a simple tool for announcing and archiving KUNSTRADIO program information to become a point of entry for "radio artists" into the world-wide networks of communication. KUNSTRADIO and KUNSTRADIO ON LINE began to work with Webcasts (RealAudio) as soon as servers became available and have installed a Webcast Studio in ORF studio RP4. Webcasting has developed so quickly that KUNSTRADIO now webcasts more than it broadcasts.
